Trooper Rico Stephens says 28-year-old Izair Perez, of Washington, was traveling south on Highway 17 in a Dodge Journey when he crossed over the centerline, hitting Janie James’s Honda CRV with her daughter inside. Perez suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, according to Highway Patrol.
