Two Seriously Injured After Car Collides with Dump Truck, Sending Vehicle Into Home Near Carthage
November 11, 2025Carthage, North Carolina — November 10, 2025 — According to the Sandhills Sentinel, emergency crews responded to a severe crash on the outskirts of Carthage that left two people critically injured and a home damaged after a collision involving a dump truck.
According to officials at the scene, the crash occurred on N.C. Highway 24/27 near Bibey’s Garage. A Nissan Altima carrying two women was traveling east toward Carthage when it reportedly crossed the center line on a curve and collided head-on with an oncoming dump truck.
The impact spun the Altima off the roadway, leaving heavy damage to the front and driver’s side of the car. The dump truck continued off the road and came to rest against a nearby house, narrowly missing the main structure and clipping the front porch.
Both occupants of the Nissan were airlifted to area trauma centers with serious injuries. The dump truck driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that no one inside the home was hurt.
The section of N.C. 24/27 was closed for several hours as first responders worked to clear debris and recover both vehicles.
Responding agencies included the Carthage Fire Department, Moore County EMS, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and Moore County Public Safety. Rockwell Towing handled the removal of the damaged vehicles.
