Breaking News: Two People Airlifted to Nearby Trauma Center in Serious Condition After Crash Near Pinebluff

Pinebluff, North Carolina — August 21, 2024 — According to the Sandhill Sentinel, a collision on U.S. Highway 1 just south of Pinebluff left three injured—two airlifted in serious condition.
The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and Park Avenue, resulting in an extended highway closure and the establishment of a landing zone nearby.
The collision happened when a Chevy Suburban T-boned a Toyota truck. The high-impact crash sent both vehicles off the roadway, with the truck careening into the woodline. Both vehicles sustained extreme damage.
The driver of the Toyota truck was trapped in the vehicle, and firefighters had to work carefully to extricate him from the wreckage safely.
According to authorities at the scene, the driver and passenger of the Suburban were seriously injured and transported to the Pinebluff ball field, where two medical helicopters landed to airlift them to a trauma center.
The truck driver was transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
