Breaking News: Tragic Fatality Reported at Southwest Charlotte Rock Quarry
March 6 , 2025Charlotte, North Carolina — March 5, 2025 — According to WSOC TV, a deadly industrial accident occurred Wednesday morning at a rock quarry in southwest Charlotte, resulting in one fatality, according to local emergency officials.
Charlotte Fire Department personnel responded to an emergency call just before 11 a.m. at the Martin Marietta quarry on Texland Boulevard near Westinghouse Boulevard. Upon arrival, first responders confirmed the tragic loss of life.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident, but authorities have not yet released further details about the accident’s circumstances.
