Breaking News: North Carolina Construction Worker Fatally Injured in Saw Accident in Stokesdale
October 8 , 2023Stokesdale, North Carolina – October 7, 2023 – According to the Greensboro News & Record and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, a worker for Yates Construction Company in Stokesdale, NC, died after a saw reportedly kicked back and hit the worker in the chest.
Because the death is under investigation, the name of the deceased was not released.
The construction worker’s death has prompted the N.C. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Division to investigate the fatality.
In North Carolina, the construction industry suffered the most work-related fatalities of any industry last year, with 21 deaths – six more than the previous year, according to the N.C. Department of Labor’s statistics.
