North Braddock Woman Dies in North Carolina Crash While Traveling to Family Wedding
September 3 , 2025North Carolina — September 2, 2025 — According to CBS News, a 25-year-old woman from North Braddock lost her life in a car accident in North Carolina while on the way to celebrate her cousin’s wedding in South Carolina.
According to her family, Bethany Nash was traveling with her sister, Mychayla, and two cousins when a truck towing a boat turned into their vehicle. The crash fatally injured Bethany, while the others survived.
“She was truly kind and always radiated positivity. She brought a unique light into this world,” her sister Mychayla said.
Bethany’s parents, Michael and Jennifer Nash, were traveling separately in another car just a few hours behind their daughters. News of the crash left them devastated.
“It’s a pain beyond description,” Michael Nash shared. “The loss is unbearable.”
Authorities have confirmed that the driver of the truck faces charges in connection with the collision.
Remembered for Her Generosity
Family members describe Bethany as someone who always puts others first. “She never worried about herself. She always cared about everyone else,” her mother, Jennifer Nash, recalled.
Her sister echoed those sentiments. “I could not have asked for a better sibling or a better person to share this world with,” Mychayla said.
Bethany’s giving spirit was evident even in death. As an organ donor, she continued to help others after her passing. “Even after leaving us, she still gives. That’s who she was,” her father added.
Community Support and University Tribute
In the wake of the tragedy, the local community has rallied around the Nash family. Donations poured in to help provide Bethany with the funeral she deserved.
Bethany, a 2023 graduate of Mansfield University, was remembered fondly by her alma mater. The university issued a statement honoring her impact on classmates and faculty alike.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bethany Nash,” the statement read. “She will be remembered for her compassion, her dedication to helping others, and her passion for life. On behalf of the Mansfield community, we extend heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and sorority sisters in Delta Zeta.”
Funeral arrangements have been finalized, and her family says they take comfort in the outpouring of love and support from friends, neighbors, and the Mansfield University community.
