Motorcyclist Killed in Buncombe County Crash on US 25
September 20 , 2025Buncombe County, North Carolina — September 19, 2025 — According to ABC 13 News and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a fatal crash claimed the life of a 25-year-old motorcyclist.
Authorities said the collision occurred along Hendersonville Road (US 25) near Watson Road.
Investigators reported that Ryan Emery Neill, of Asheville, was riding a black Honda motorcycle northbound on US 25. At the same time, 21-year-old Katelin Michelle Poole of Fletcher was leaving the Planet Fitness parking lot in a silver Volkswagen to head north on the same roadway. The two vehicles collided in the left lane.
Troopers said Neill suffered critical injuries in the impact and was rushed to Mission Hospital, where he died shortly afterward. His family has been notified.
As of now, no charges have been filed. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, officials said.
