Breaking News: Gastonia Man Dies in Workplace Incident at Kings Mountain Manufacturing Site
May 28 , 2025Kings Mountain, North Carolina — May 27, 2025 — According to WSOC TV 9, a 67-year-old Gastonia resident lost his life following a fatal incident at an industrial facility.
City officials confirmed the tragedy occurred at the NVR Building Products location on Riverside Court. Emergency crews were dispatched to the site around 9:10 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters and Cleveland County EMS personnel found the man unresponsive. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a statement from the City of Kings Mountain, the victim has been identified as Willy Victor Carmona.
Authorities have not yet released details about the circumstances leading to Carmona’s death, but initial reports indicate that foul play is not suspected.
NVR Building Products specializes in manufacturing materials used in home construction. The North Carolina Department of Labor has been notified and is expected to conduct a formal investigation. Additional information from the department is pending.
