Breaking News: DOT Contractor Seriously Injured in I-85 Crash in Northeast Charlotte
October 14, 2025Charlotte, North Carolina — According to MSN, a Department of Transportation contractor sustained serious injuries following a crash on Interstate 85 near W.T. Harris Boulevard.
The contractor was working with the Incident Management Assistance Patrol (IMAP) at the time of the collision. IMAP teams provide roadside assistance, help remove roadway hazards, and assist with traffic control during emergencies.
According to Medic, the contractor was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have not released additional details about the crash. The scene has since been cleared, and traffic has resumed in the area.
