Breaking News Update: Triplet Killed in Siemens Energy Workplace Incident Was Handling High-Powered Equipment, Investigation Ongoing

May 20 , 2025

Charlotte, North Carolina — According to Charlotte Alert News, a tragic workplace incident claimed the life of 27-year-old Robert Anthony Mediate at Siemens Energy’s facility on Westinghouse Boulevard.

Mediate, who had been employed with the company for approximately six months, was working near heavy power equipment when the fatal event occurred. While details remain under investigation, initial reports suggest that Robert may have either suffered a fall near a hazardous part of the machinery or sustained a fatal electric shock.

Several coworkers witnessed the incident and immediately rushed to assist him, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Mediate died at the scene.

Robert was part of a close-knit family and one of a set of triplets, survived by his brother, sister, and other loved ones who are now mourning his sudden and heartbreaking loss.

Siemens Energy, a company specializing in producing power transformers and related technologies, has not released a public statement about the incident. The North Carolina Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Division has launched a formal investigation to determine the exact cause and whether any safety violations may have contributed to the deadly incident.
