Worker Dies After Tractor-Trailer Incident at Southeast Charlotte Loading Dock
July 8, 2026Charlotte, North Carolina — July 7, 2026 — According to WBTV and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, a workplace incident involving a tractor-trailer at a loading dock claimed the life of a 53-year-old man.
Officers responded to a commercial property near East Independence Boulevard and Village Lake Drive. Investigators reported that 53-year-old Idrisu Issaku was injured while a tractor-trailer was backing toward a loading dock.
Preliminary information indicates that Issaku became pinned between the rear of the trailer and the loading dock structure during the maneuver. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities have not yet determined how Issaku came to be behind the trailer before the collision occurred. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
