Teen Arrested Following Fatal Single-Vehicle Wreck in Davidson
June 8, 2026Davidson, North Carolina — June 7, 2026 — According to WBTV, a 16-year-old from Cornelius has been charged after a single-vehicle collision claimed the life of one occupant.

Police reported that the crash occurred in a residential area near Shearer Road. Responding officers discovered a heavily damaged vehicle that had left the roadway and struck several trees.
One of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle during the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. Due to the ages of the individuals involved, officials have not released the victim’s identity.
Investigators allege that the teenage driver was impaired at the time of the wreck. The driver now faces multiple charges, including felony death by vehicle, driving while impaired, reckless driving, and operating a vehicle after consuming alcohol while under the age of 21.
Following the crash, the teen was booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail. Court records indicate a judge set bond at $100,000, and the defendant was later released after posting bond on Sunday morning.
Authorities have not confirmed whether additional passengers were inside the vehicle or whether anyone else sustained injuries. Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and further details have not yet been released.
Davidson is located in northern Mecklenburg County, approximately 20 miles north of downtown Charlotte.
